Hall of Fame shortstop Cal Ripken Jr. appeared — bodiless — on a virtual hearing for his wife’s state Senate judicial confirmation hearing, according to a report.
The legendary former Oriole appeared Monday alongside Judge Laura Ripken — but only his head was visible due to his wife’s virtual background, The Baltimore Sun reported.
“Joining me here today in our home office is my husband, Cal, who has been my biggest fan,” Judge Ripken said.
“The most wonderful husband imaginable — and the best person that I know.”
The couple giggled during his appearance.
A lawmaker on the hearing kept it humorous.
“Who is your husband again? Just kidding,” said state Sen. Ronald Young, according to the newspaper.
Judge Ripken was being confirmed to Maryland’s Court of Special Appeals.
