Arrest warrant issued in murder of Yale graduate student Kevin Jiang

Cops are now officially on the hunt for a Massachusetts Institute of Technology grad student wanted in the murder of Yale University grad student Kevin Jiang.

An arrest warrant has been issued for Qinxuan Pan, 29, who now faces murder charges and who will be held on $5 million bail once captured, according to FOX61.

Pan, an MIT graduate student, had previously been identified as a person of interest in the Feb. 6 New Haven murder of Jiang, a 26-year-old graduate student and US Army veteran.

A manhunt by the US Marshals was intensifying outside Atlanta, where Pan was last seen, sources told the Post a week after the murder.

Connecticut police had speculated that Jiang may have been targeted in a road-rage incident. His bullet-ridden body was found in the street next to his damaged car.

Pan had reportedly crossed paths with Jiang’s fiancée, Zion Perry, last March at an on-campus MIT birthday party. There’s no indication Pan and Perry had a “romantic relationship,” the New Haven Independent reported.

The suspect checked into a North Haven Best Western hours after Jiang was found shot dead in the middle of an intersection on a Saturday evening.

Pan never stayed in the room or checked out of the hotel, NBC Connecticut reported.

He was seen five days later in Georgia, “carrying a black backpack and acting strange,” US Marshals said.
