Buckingham Palace has released the list of who will be attending Prince Philip’s funeral at a Windsor Castle chapel on Saturday.
With just 30 attendees — a list kept short by British social distancing rules — it will be a very intimate, and very royal, affair.
Here is a breakdown of who’s going:
Philip’s widow of more than 70 years, Queen Elizabeth, will of course attend.
She has had a firm hand in the funeral’s planning, even forbidding attendees from wearing military uniforms to save her son Prince Andrew and grandson Prince Harry the embarrassment of standing out, as both have been forced to step down from royal duties.
PRINCE CHARLES AND FAMILY
Elizabeth and Philip’s eldest, heir to the throne Prince Charles — who on Thursday was photographed close to tears as he viewed floral tributes to his “Papa” — will attend with his wife, Camilla.
Charles’ two sons with Princess Diana — heir to the throne Prince William and Prince Harry, who landed on Sunday — will also attend.
William will have his wife, Kate Middleton, at his side, but Harry’s wife, Meghan Markle, is seven months pregnant with their second child, and is staying home in Los Angeles.
PRINCESS ANNE AND FAMILY
Elizabeth and Philip’s second oldest child, Princess Anne, will attend with her retired Royal Navy officer husband, Sir Timothy Laurence.
Anne 70, had recently hailed her father’s “legacy which inspires us all.”
Anne and Timothy’s two children will also attend. They are Peter Phillips, 43, the queen’s eldest grandchild, who will attend alone, and Zara. 39 — the queen’s eldest granddaughter – who is going with husband Mike Tindall.
PRINCE ANDREW AND FAMILY
Next down out of the Queen and Philip’s children is the scandal-scarred Prince Andrew, 61, who will attend without a plus-one and without a uniform, though he’d hoped to wear one before his mother’s no-uniform edict.
He had withdrawn from the high-ranking Royal Navy over his friendship with pedophile financier Jeffrey Epstein.
Both of his daughters with his ex, Sarah Ferguson, will attend. Princess Beatrice, 32, will be there with her husband of one year, Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi. Princess Eugenie, 31, will attend with her husband of three years, Jack Brooksbank — who named their son after Philip in February.
PRINCE EDWARD AND FAMILY
Finally Elizabeth and Philip’s fourth and youngest child, Prince Edward, will attend with his countess wife, Sophie and their two children, Louise, 17, and James, 13.
Sophie was particularly moved when visiting her mother-in-law the day after Philip’s death, telling reporters tearfully afterward, “the Queen has been amazing.”
Who will take the remaining ten seats?
THE EXTENDED ROYAL FAMILY
The queen’s sister Margaret’s son, David Linley, Second Earl of Snowdon, 59 — a favorite nephew of the queen, gets one of the remaining seats.
So does a favorite niece, Lady Sarah Chatto, 54, who is Margaret’s daughter. She will attend with her husband, Daniel.
Further down the list are three of the queen’s first cousins, Prince Richard, Prince Edward, Princess Alexandra.
Rounding out the list are three of Philip’s German relatives — Prince Bernhard, Prince Donatus and Prince Philipp.
Finally, a close friend of Philip’s, Penelope Eastwood, the Countess Mountbatten of Burma, will attend.
