Despite being a “cult figure” with fans, Howard Stern’s bodyguard and limo driver Ronnie Mund is just a regular guy looking to retire — and now that he’s put his home up for sale, we get to peek inside.
The 71-year-old, who has become a regular guest on Stern’s show, is asking about $916,000 for the three-bedroom, one-and-a-half-bathroom ranch house.
He hopes to retire to his new home in Las Vegas with his 37-year-old partner Stephanie Carney.
They decided to put bids in on two plots of land in Nevada because of conflict with co-workers on the show, he said on “The Howard Stern Show” last year from his home office, which is filled with Nascar memorabilia.
“Those of us here in New York will be sad to see Ronnie go, but I understand what you’re up to, and I support it,” Stern, who has real estate all over the country, replied.
The 1,140-square-foot house looks like a typical home, with Nascar memorabilia, beer posters, photos on the fridge and vertical blinds, which are nostalgic for their popularity in the ’80s and ’90s, according to Realtor.com listing photos.
The stone-front house has an intensely teal living room with an attached dining room. He recently posted a video of him bantering with Carney on the living room sofa.
The house also has a bright yellow eat-in kitchen with black laminate countertops, white cabinets and a leaded glass-windowed door leading to the back yard. He recently posted a video on Instagram of him enjoying a beer in his yellow kitchen.
The home also has a finished basement with a large, comfortable-looking tan sectional sofa.
The 0.08-acre lot has a white picket fence, landscaped shrubbery and a covered driveway. For Christmas, they fill the front yard with lights, blow-up figurines (including a dragon and a Santa Claus) and even a large holiday snow globe.
Mund owns the house with his 50-year-old son Brian, though it appears that Brian does not share the house with him. Mund’s ex-wife, Bonnie Mund, age 71, shared ownership of the house until 2008, records show.
He now lives at the Queens house with Carney, their dog Gracie, their cat Harvey and their gecko Walter. Carney is a veterinarian from Ohio, and the couple have been together for 14 years.
