Patrick Mahomes’ younger brother Jackson made a splash at the Chiefs-Ravens game on Sunday night.
During Baltimore’s 36-35 upset of Kansas City, a couple of Ravens fans spotted Mahomes and began taunting him about their team’s wild win over the Chiefs and his brother.
The fans, dressed in Ravens jerseys, can be heard yelling, “I’m so sorry for you” and “Let’s go!” in a video shared by Bobby Calaway on Instagram.
Mahomes didn’t appear to say much, but he walked over to the hecklers, opened his water bottle and dumped it over their heads.
At the time, Mahomes was with Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce’s girlfriend, Kayla Nicole — who didn’t appear to react to the noise. His brother’s fiancee Brittany Matthews was also present, but not in the viral video. The trio posed for photos on the sidelines before the game.
Meanwhile, Calaway posted an Instagram Story video of Mahomes dumping his water bottle and wrote, “Jackson Mahomes just dumped his whole drink on me,” with a crying-laughing emoji.
Earlier in the game, the Ravens fan shared a clip of Mahomes walking to his seat with the caption, “Why is Jackson Mahomes sitting right behind us?”
Mahomes — a marketing student at the University of Missouri-Kansas City, according to a YouTube video of his — wrote “they were thirsty” in a quote tweet of the video. Jackson also responded to the situation in a post on his Instagram Story.
He wrote, “Facts” over a fan-comment that read, “Why do people hate on this dude, all he does is support his brother, and at the end of the day, he makes more money than both your parents combined.”
Mahomes, who has become a social media influencer, has opened up about cyber bullying in the past.
“All of the hate that I receive really affects me,” he wrote in the caption of a tearful TikTok video in May 2020. “I honestly really struggle with it and am trying to stay strong, but it’s become too much.”
