Rep. Maxine Waters claimed on Tuesday that her Twitter account had been hacked and she would be coming for the person who did it.
“I have been hacked and my Twitter account has been erased. I know who has done this. I will take care of this,” Waters (D-Calif.) posted on her page shortly before noon.
Her last tweet before that was on Monday evening around 7 p.m. thanking NBA legend Michael Jordan for promoting inclusion in NASCAR through his ownership of a team, saying, “Keep competing and keep fighting.”
But her tweet about having her account erased left users on the social media site puzzled, as all her tweets are still visible.
“But if your account has been erased, then………” wrote one user.
“Isn’t this your Twitter account,” asked another.
Waters’ page also continued to count the number of likes and retweets.
Another user asked the obvious.
“Lady you got to be kidding right? So you posted that your Twitter account has been deleted or hacked on your existing Twitter account how does that make any sense???” said an observer.
