This is the horrifying moment a tree toppled onto a car in Brazil, crushing a 16-year-old girl – who miraculously survived the incident with only a fractured leg.
Amanda Goncalves was waiting in the car while her mother ran an errand in the city of Camp Grande on Oct. 15 when a windstorm uprooted the tree, which fell right onto the vehicle and pinned her in the passenger seat, Newsflash reported.
Amanda’s terrified mom Fabiane Barreiros Goncalves was walking back to the car when she saw the tree falling as if in “slow motion.”
“The tree fell on top of the car and, as far as I knew, she was dead inside the car,” Fabiane told news outlet G1, calling her daughter’s escape a “miracle.”
A smiling Amanda showed off her bandaged right leg at the hospital after her brush with death. She was discharged on Tuesday.
The terrifying incident happened on a day when winds of up to 56 mph swept through the city in the state of Mato Grosso do Sul, causing several road accidents, according to Newsflash.
Thousands of power outages were reported as a result of the blustery weather conditions, which also brought in a cloud of dust that suddenly turned the day into night.
Two other vehicles were hit by the falling tree, but no one besides Amanda was hurt.
