Now, he’s onto a different kind of dynasty.
“Dynasty” actor John James has been tapped to play President Joe Biden in the upcoming Hunter Biden movie “My Son Hunter.”
“The script has it all. Money, power, greed, sex, drugs and alcohol,” the 65-year-old soap opera star told the Daily Mail via a 30-second clip announcing his new role.
For the uninitiated, the controversial biopic is based on allegations by The Post and other outlets made against the Biden clan ahead of the 2020 election. The Post ran a story about emails allegedly retrieved from a laptop belonging to the younger Biden, which reportedly disclosed the family’s business dealings with both China and Ukraine. The exposé was blocked from being shared on Twitter.
“This is a common tale of a father’s ultimate love for his son, despite his major shortcomings. ‘My Son Hunter’ is an inside look at the world of politics,” James said in the clip.
“It kind of reminds me of ‘Dynasty,’” mused the “Axcellerator” actor in a nod to his breakout TV role. James famously played the character Jeff Colby on the ABC series, which ran from 1981 to 1989, as well as the short-lived spinoff “The Colbys” from 1985 to 1987.
“My Son Hunter” director Robert Davi, for one, thought James was the ideal actor to play the 46th president of the United States.
“I saw in him a depth, sincerity and an extreme likability which I wanted for the basis of Joe Biden, a man who has for 40-plus years been at the forefront of American politics,” gushed Davi, known for roles in TV series including “Stargate: Atlantis,” “Profiler” and “Wiseguy” and films like “Die Hard,” “The Goonies” and the camp classic “Showgirls.”
Filling the role of Biden’s controversial progeny, meanwhile, is British actor and politician Laurence Fox. Fox posted a Twitter photo Monday in which he’s seen wearing nothing but a white loincloth, an orange scarf and sunglasses – in an apparent parody of the photos allegedly found on the computer hard drive.
“Everything is fine. I’m in a really good place,” read the snarky caption.
“I’m especially excited to be working with a wonderful actor,” co-star James said of his new castmate. “We have some interesting scenes together.”
Davi added: “With John and Laurence, I think audiences will be riveted by Joe and Hunter’s relationship and come to understand the dynamics between father and son.”
“My Son Hunter” was the brainchild of conservative Irish husband-and-wife filmmakers Ann McElhinney and Phelim McAleer, who are currently conducting a crowdfunding campaign to amass the film’s $1.8 million budget. So far, the fund-raiser has managed to garner $1.6 million.
McAleer said he hopes that the project will help expose the “partying lifestyle and dodgy business practices” of President Biden’s son, the Daily Mail reported.
“Joe Biden is a complex character,” the filmmaker explained. “At times he mumbles and stumbles but he also is one the longest-serving politicians in Washington who has become very wealthy during his time in public service.”
“My Son Hunter” does not yet have a release date; however, production began in Serbia this week and will reportedly last until November.
