The trade deadline hasn’t always generated the buzz in the NFL that it does regularly in other leagues, but the rise in interest in last-minute deals hit a crescendo on Monday with the blockbuster trade of future Hall of Famer Von Miller from the Broncos to the all-in Rams.
Tuesday’s 4 p.m. ET deadline certainly could feature several more intriguing deals, both nationally — especially if troubled Texans quarterback Deshaun Watson finally is moved — and locally, where the Jets and the Giants have multiple pending free agents who could help contending teams.
Let’s start there, and wonder out loud whether Sunday’s win over the Bengals behind backup quarterback Mike White — who won Best Costume for Halloween by dressing up as Joe Willie Namath – at all alters the Jets’ approach to the deadline regarding safety Marcus Maye or veteran wide receiver Jamison Crowder.
