One of the only positives the Jets could take from the thumping they took at the hands of the Colts was that the game was played last Thursday, giving the team a chance to regroup.
The “mini-bye” feels like a reset point for the Jets, who first must figure out who will be the starting quarterback on Sunday against the Bills but also can refocus on what needs fixing — namely the defense.
It also presents us with a chance to look at the final nine games of the schedule and assess the Jets’ chances of finishing with a respectable record. Don’t worry, Jim Mora, no one is talking about the playoffs. We said respectable record. Can the Jets finish 6-11 or maybe even 7-10? That would be major progress after going 2-14 in 2020.
