A woman who had gotten out of her car after parking on the shoulder of the Belt Parkway was struck and killed by a hit-and-run driver early Sunday, police said.
Emma Risper, 56, of Scotrun, Pa., was struck at around 3 a.m. on the westbound side of the highway in southern Brooklyn, NYPD said.
The driver who struck Risper fled and has not been identified, police said.
First responders arrived at the scene at 3:05 a.m. to find Ridper unconscious and unresponsive with “severe head and body trauma,” NYPD said. She was transported to Coney Island Hospital, where she was pronounced deceased.
