Oscar-winning actress Jennifer Lawrence has a new neighbor in the West Village.
The “Hunger Games” star — who is pregnant and on the cover of this month’s Vanity Fair — and her husband, art gallerist Cooke Maroney, were the first to buy at 17 Jane St. That’s the discreet, seven-unit, new-construction building that rose on the site of a former two-story garage in a historic slice of the West Village, as Gimme exclusively reported last year.
Lawrence is currently on a publicity tour for her new comedy “Don’t Look Up,” co-starring Leonardo DiCaprio — about scientists trying to save the world as a comet shoots towards Earth — and is living in a rental until construction is complete, according to Vanity Fair.
In retrospect, Lawrence and Maroney’s purchase of the $21.9 million, 5,000-square-foot townhouse-style unit at 17 Jane looks almost cheap.
Now, a mystery buyer is in contract on the building’s final unit — a $31.9 million triplex, according to the Olshan Luxury Market Report. It comes with common charges of $12,170 a month.
That buyer already owns a $9.65 million, three-bedroom condo above the triplex — raising their total spend to roughly $41.5 million.
Their new four- to five-bedroom “townhouse” is 6,378 square feet and comes with a 54-foot-wide, 1,773-square-foot rear garden. It features stairs as well as a private elevator and a private gate and doorway on Jane Street.
Inside, there are 13-foot ceilings, wide-plank white oak floors, a hand-painted chef’s kitchen, formal dining room and a great room with a library and double glass doors that lead to the garden, which boasts mature trees and plantings. Upstairs are separate bedroom wings as well as media, lounge and game rooms. A cellar level features the laundry room and access to the building’s gym, garage and lobby via a main elevator.
Developer Edward Minskoff, who partnered with David Chipperfield Architects, loves his building so much that he also moved in.
The exclusive building also features a 10-foot bronze sculpture by Jeff Koons in the lobby.
