The woman who was left unconscious outside a Los Angeles hospital — hours after her model friend’s body was dumped there — has died after more than two weeks in a coma, her family revealed Tuesday.
Aspiring architect Hilda Marcela Cabrales-Arzola died late Monday — the day before her 27th birthday — after her family took her off life support, they told KABC-TV.
“We know she wouldn’t have wanted to be how she was these past 15 days,” her father, Luis Cabrales Rivera, told the station.
“My daughter would have been 27 today and we are very, very, very sad because it’s a loss that we will never forget and nothing will ever be able to fill,” he also told The Sun Wednesday.
His daughter — who only moved to LA from Mexico in July — was last seen partying with model and aspiring actress Christy Giles, 24, in the early hours of on Nov. 13.
Giles’ dead body was later dumped outside a hospital by two men allegedly wearing bandanas over their faces, two hours before Cabrales-Arzola was left unconscious outside a neighboring hospital.
Cabrales-Arzola was found to have heroin in her system — but both women’s family and friends have alleged the pair had been drugged and assaulted after a night out, KABC-TV previously reported.
The grieving dad told The Sun about the moving final moments he, his wife, Carolina, and their younger daughter, Fernanda, shared with Cabrales-Arzola.
He said the medical staff helped pay “homage to her for the great act of love she was doing by donating her organs,” reading from a letter the dying woman’s mom wrote and playing her favorite song, Rauw Alejandro’s “Todo de Ti,” or “Everything About You.”
They left “with the certainty that our girl is in the presence of God, resting and waiting for justice in her case,” her father said.
“This was a very, very hard process for us, sixteen days of anguish, but I also believe that God gave us that time to prepare to accept what was going to happen.
“It gives us peace that a part of her will be living on with other people that receive the miracle of life from her organs,” he said.
