Sherrill, N.Y. — A man suffered injuries after being trapped in a salter box Monday morning, according to officials from the Sherrill Kenwood Volunteer Fire Department (SKVFD).
At approximately 7:30 a.m. on March 14, first responders were dispatched to 100 E Seneca Street behind Briggs and Stratton for a report of a male subject trapped in a salter box. Sherrill Car 2, J. Mennig, arrived on scene shortly after and confirmed that a male had his legs trapped in the rear of a salter box on the back of a pickup truck, SKVFD officials wrote in a press release shared on their Facebook page.
Officials reported disassembling the machinery to free the trapped subject. The complexity of the incident called for the City of Oneida Fire Department’s mutual aid to assist with more tools and manpower. At 8:40 a.m., the patient was able to be removed from the machinery and was transported to the hospital by Vineall Ambulance.
Units on-scene with Sherrill were the City of Oneida Fire Department, Vineall Ambulance, and Sherrill Police Department.
