Step one

The first step in making a delicious cherry pie is to gather all the necessary ingredients. These include fresh or canned sour cherries, flour, sugar, butter, salt, and lemon juice. For the filling, one can use either pitted fresh cherries or canned cherries. To sweeten the filling, granulated sugar is added along with a touch of lemon juice to balance the sweetness. Flour is used to thicken the filling, and butter is added for richness and flavor. Once all the ingredients are gathered, it’s time to move on to preparing the pie crust and filling.

Step two

To prepare the pie crust and filling, begin by making the crust. This can be done using a homemade recipe or a store-bought crust. For the filling, mix together the cherries, sugar, flour, cinnamon, lemon juice, and sea salt in a large bowl. In another bowl, mix together the cornstarch and vanilla extract. Add this mixture to the cherry mixture and stir until well combined. Pour the filling into the prepared pie crust and add small pieces of butter on top. Cover the pie with the second crust and seal the edges. Cut a few slits on the top of the crust to allow steam to escape during baking.

Step three

The final step is to bake the pie with the proper cooking equipment. Preheat the oven to 375°F and place the pie on a baking sheet. Brush the top of the crust with milk to give it a golden brown color. Bake the pie for 45-50 minutes or until the crust is golden brown and the filling is bubbling. Once done, remove the pie from the oven and let it cool for at least 30 minutes before slicing and serving. With these simple steps, anyone can make a delicious cherry pie at home.
