Move More Live More is a program aimed at promoting physical activity and injury prevention in the elderly population. The program emphasizes the importance of regular exercise and staying active to maintain good physical health and prevent falls. The goal of the program is to improve the overall quality of life for older adults and reduce healthcare costs associated with falls and injuries.
Smartwatches have been utilized in the Move More Live More program to detect signs of falls in older adults. A study conducted by Brew et al. in 2022 found that smartwatches equipped with fall detection apps were able to accurately detect and record falls. The project, which involves Ulster University and other local institutions, involves wearing a smartwatch that monitors activity levels, sleep, and other vitals to predict the likelihood of falls up to 32 days before they occur. This technology allows for early intervention and injury prevention, reducing healthcare costs and improving the overall health outcomes of older adults.

Predictive analytics and monitored vitals are also used in the Move More Live More program to prevent injuries and falls in the elderly population. Wearable sensors are increasingly being utilized to monitor patient health and assist with disease diagnosis. This data is analyzed to predict the likelihood of falls and provide personalized injury prevention strategies. By utilizing technology in this way, the Move More Live More program can promote injury prevention and improve the overall health outcomes of older adults.
Currently the program is available in Northern Ireland and is looking for new participants.
